Fall/Winter 2009

Well people, we continue to live and thrive as a car club, thanks to contributions and work from a “core group” of members.

I guess this is what we need to keep us going.  The sponsorship issue will be coming to head in the near future.  I have heard from some sources that the Barnes Wheaton Group  have designated the White Rock facility (Don Carr dealership) as a “Pontiac/Buick/GMC Dealership and that may be our sponsor.  The Coquitlam and Surrey branches may have been removed from GM’s list.  More facts to come after our meeting with them.

Our annual Bowling Night was the usual success with a turnout of seven of us to pretend to bowl and eat cookies while wearing funny looking shoes that seven thousand others have worn.  Some things you just can’t focus on or you lose perspective.  It was fun while getting some exercise.  Darrell didn’t have all that much fun in the last game as both Pat and Laurie managed to rack up more points than he did.  Many thanks to Katinka  for setting the evening up, but then finding out due to forgotten previous arrangements, that she was unable to attend.

Our Christmas dinner for 2009 turned out to be a very fun event again this year.  We had a full house who enjoyed a delicious meal (some had drinks) and thanks so much to Pat Beale for those brain twister Christmas questions that go a long way to prove we don’t really listen to details in our daily life and Craig Jacob for the Pontiac trivia questions that I know if I’m here long enough, I’ll get some.  They did spark some discussion between Dave Deering, Darrell and Dave Rogers, with the rest of us hanging on to every word. Seriously, they are a vital and interesting part of being a dedicated club keeping our hobby alive

Katinka left Steve at home and brought her daughter Krista, she was very welcome and the way Steve and Katinka are going, Krista may have a Pontiac to show before they do.

Maybe if they stop building houses and such, they’ll have more time to put to the car.  BBQ still on?

Tracy Jorzik was there solo as Rudy’s work is keeping him out of town until he can get home for the Christmas Season.

A big thanks to all who attended, especially the Jolly Rogers from Sidney who brought the rain with them.

It was great to see all of you.  We must try to do an additional BBQ this summer as it’s great to just get together and have some fun.

Pat and I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year with our hope 2010 will be a great year for you and your families.

Thanks again for all contributions and help with club activities in the year 2009.

We’ll deal with 2010 later.

Pat and Terry Beale

President's Message 2008
Welcome to the Pacific Performance Pontiac Car Club site.

2008 will be our 20th year as an active club that’s function is to promote Pontiacs & GMC vehicles in a social setting, and in this way promote the history and vast variety of the Pontiac name.

All our shows and activities are in keeping with being a non-profit club.

Pontiacs have been around since 1926. They were originally introduced as a more affordable alternative to the Oakland automobile. Pontiacs sold so well that Oakland stopped making Oakland’s altogether and focused strictly on Pontiacs. The rest, as they say, is history. Pontiac continues making fine cars to this day, and promises even more excitement in the future.

The cars owned by our current members range from the 1920's to present day! Many of us own more than one and, in many cases, have an older "hobby" and newer "daily driver" Pontiac. Talk about the best of both worlds.

Our club is a great venue to talk amongst fellow enthusiasts. Many of us have, or are in the process of, restoring an older Pontiac. Fellow members are a great resource to help along the way. Alternatively, many club members have newer, or fully restored older, Pontiacs.

We love to see any Pontiac’s, restored, altered, “Hot Rods” or otherwise.

I should mention that although our club specializes in Pontiacs, we do NOT provide any kind of parts locator service to non members. Your best source of parts continues to be your local GM dealer or one of the reputable National parts suppliers such as Year One, Ames or Classic Industries to name just a few. These are all readily found on the Internet.

Feel free to come to one of our monthly meetings and try us on for size. Be prepared to tell us about your Pontiac ride, or the one you're looking for. You're our kind of people.
